KATIE SARGENT

I was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania but moved around a lot as a kid—we credit those years for turning me into a bit of a gypsy.  I attended the Savannah College of Art & Design, where I earned a Masters Degree in Interior Design.  My very first job moved me to Italy, where I was the on-site designer for the restoration and conversion of a 10th century castle and surrounding farmhouses on a 4,500 acre property in Tuscany into a luxury resort.  Through that experience I fell in love with historic renovations, and also with the construction process.  A significant portion of my career from that point on has been spent on job sites actively advancing my projects to the finish line.  I live for time spent in a hard hat and boots.

 

 

As the Creative Director of 11fiftynine, I specialize in leading the team’s artistic vision, adapting each project’s unique story and location into a package of highly bespoke designs, details, and furnishings.  If old buildings are my first love—custom FF&E is most certainly my second.  I am always deeply involved with each of our fabricators and contractors, to ensure that things run smoothly from the initial concept through to the finished product.
